I've run through the Read & Run Me First.

I was experiencing iexplorer.exe slowing down my system. After running the other scans, multiple malware infections were shown.

I've gotten rid of most everything, but BitDefender and Panda is still showing various issues.

I've looked for the various things in these log files to no avail. Please help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You do not appear to be following the directions for running GetRunKey and ShowNew. The logs are incomplete. You are either not extracting all files from the ZIP file and running the .bat files from outside of the ZIP, or you may have gotten one of the errors mention on the download pages. FIRST run the below and then make sure you follow the directions for using them to get the new logs I ask for.

    1. Download this file - combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

You are correct on the problems with GetRunKey and ShowNew.

Combofix was run in safe mode. It rebooted my machine and continued in normal mode. Below is the logs you asked for.

I'll rerun HijackThis and attach to the next msg.

As you can see from the ComboFix log, a lot of malware was removed. Thus you were not as clean as you though!;)

You have two antivirus applications installed which we specifically indicate you must not do in step 3 of the READ ME. Please uninstall either McAfee or AVG now. Then attach new logs from ShowNew and HJT.

Is McAfee even working properly? It does not seem to be based on your log!!

Also you must go back and do step 2 of the READ ME properly! And then attach a new log from GetRunKey. I cannot give you the next cleanup instructions until you have done this properly because you will not be able to find the files since you are still hiding them because you did not do step 2.

Okay! Boot into safe mode and run Windows Explorer (right click Start and select Explore). Then navigate to the below files and delete any that are found (some may already be gone):

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wintsvtr32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kjmoq.bak1
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kjmoq.bak2
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kjmoq.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kjmoq.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kjmoq.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\drsmartloadb1.dat
    C:\WINDOWS\SEVBVEhFUg\asappsrv.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SEVBVEhFUg\command.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SEVBVEhFUg\mHp1pH1Io0.vbs
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iew.dll

Also delete the below folder if found:
    C:\WINDOWS\SEVBVEhFUg

Reboot into normal mode and attach a new log from ShowNew. Also tell me if you found any files that could not be deleted.

I still see the below in your Uninstall list. Did you uninstall them or did you just delete the McAfee lines seen in your HJT log:
    McAfee.com SecurityCenter
    McAfee.com VirusScan Online

All files were found (except drsmartloadb1.dat) and deleted.

Here is the new ShowNew log.

McAfee was uninstalled manually according to http://stuff.mit.edu/people/bbrids/virus.html

I found these same instructions in multiple places. Evidently, I missed a step.

Okay the below should remove finish removing McAfee and also one left over from Viewpoint Media Player.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

You can either look at your ShowNew log to make sure the McAfee entries are gone, or you can attach a new log and I will look at them. Either way, I would expect we are finished with your malware cleanup and the below steps should now be followed.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix, you can delete the ComboFix.exe file, C:\ComboFix folder, C:\QooBox folder, and the C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    9. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
