Hello and thanks in advance for all those willing to help me!!

It all starts with popup ads. We all know the story. I ran some programs (spybot, adaware, ewido) and found and destroyed many wares (mal, ad, spy, etc.) and decreased the amount of popups. I manually got rid of some as well - such as SurfSideKick. However, I still have problem ones such as Web Nexus and CMDservice, and perhaps others that are hidden. Also, now I am not able to open my Camedia program (by Olympus for viewing photos). It tries to open for one second and then nothing. I perhaps destroyed something that Camedia needs in the process.

    Any help??!!

[IMG] Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

[IMG]After doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

Well, I think that I solved my malware attack program. However, my Camedia program will not start - even after unload and reload of it. I think that something was chopped out during the malware fixes.

If you completed the READ ME, attach the 2 logs from the online scans with a fresh HJT log.

    bjgarrick:

Well, now Camedia is working. I installed ZoneAlarm and after than it worked. It may be related to MS Firewall - if ZoneAlarm forces MS Firewall to shut down.

Anyway, I cannot argue with success.
