help please :( my daughter's PC can only connect to internet via the wired ethernet connection when it's in safe mode. Only other internet access via wireless card. After checking and/or replacing the obvious, cable/modem/router, I thought maybe malware could be preventing the access since she tinkers in places such as myspace and limewire. I Ran READ ME FIRST clean procedures and myway.mywebsearch still seems to linger. still no internet.... help!? please... although we can connect with the external wireless card, it's driving me insane that we can't use the direct connection. SAS mbam and ComboFix logs attached. MGlogs.zip to follow.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here as these two sentences seem to contradict each other. So what exactly is the problem that you are trying to over come?
    1. Are you saying you want to use the wired interface?
    2. Are you saying the wired interface works in safe boot mode but not normal boot mode?
You only had minor adware issues with MyWebSearch. It does not affect internet connections. So any problems that you are having are either configuration issues or driver issues.

I can only connect with the wired connection in Safe Mode; wireless works in Normal and Safe. I suppose some configuration is askewed. But oddly enough, it worked intermittently in Normal Mode a few days ago and only config change I made was trying to update the driver. I'm at a loss, unless its the NIC card itself, but then it wouldn't work in Safe Mode right? On the myway.myweb search issue, is there something more I need to remove that you can see? I read somewhere that some malware will ping addresses over and over and eventually cause the internet to not work; forgive me for my ignorance, I'm not sure of what that meant but thought that maybe there was more to my internet connection problems. :(

Then undo the driver change. You could try using System Restore to go back to a point before the change.

If the hardware were bad, it would not work in safe mode.

You are not having a problem due to MyWebSearch nor a problem due to something trying to use all of your network interface resource.

Try what I stated above with System Restore. Also make sure you are not blocking the wired interface in your firewall. Other than that, I suggest that you post in the Networking Forum.
