Malware removal... or not??

    My laptop has been running incredibly slowly for the past few weeks. It seems to have been slowly deteriorating, but has gotten worse within the last month or so. I've tried following all of the directions in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST" thread, but unfortunately, the computer seems to have gotten even worse. I don't know if it's because I've downloaded too many programs, if I have a virus, or if the computer is just old and needs to be trashed (I've had it for about 4.5 years). Since I work from home, if this thing completely dies I am kinda screwed. I'm am attaching my logfiles here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    I am not seeing any malware....but you should be aware that AVG8 is a bit of a resource hog....perhaps you should consider a different AV program. You should also post in the software section for further addistance.

    Let's just do this:
    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following ( be sure to re-enable when we are finished):


    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Now to clean up from the scans:

    I've done all of the steps above, and while not perfect, my laptop seems to be better than it was a few hours ago. I'll take your advice and post in the software forum as well. Thanks!
