Situation: Desperate - out of options

    Problem: ZLOB-X.a (I think)

Symptoms: Single continuous "Critical System Warning" pop-up and rapidly slowing browser (IE).

    What I have done:

Gone through the generic Malware removal process to the best of my ability.

    1) Can only log onto "Safe mode w/networking"
    2) CCleaner, Spybot S&D, CounterSpy found nothing (No option to safe a log in CounterSpy presented itself)
    3) Ran Bitdefender - could not do so in safe mode - no log option presented itself).

    4) Could not download Pandascan.

All I have is the Pop-up in IE.....almost every click of the mouse. Does not make a file in temp files or IE History.

    Can anyone help?

    :cry

You need to attach the logs from:
    ShowNew
    GetRunKeys
    HJT

I re-ran all the programs plus a few more I saw in a Zlob-X.a specific post - all in Safe Mode with Networking boot:

CCleaner - No Log file available

    Combofix - Txt file attached

Spybot S&D - "No Problems Found"

AVG - No Log file available

    MGtools - Zip file attached

Counteryspy - No log file available

    ShowNew - Txt file attached

    Getrunkey - txt file attached

    Bitdefender - Logs attached

Here are the other files....I have not run the HJT series yet, I'll do that next.

Bitdefender is still running - Pandascan won't run - it gives and exception error.

    1. Download FixIEDef.zip by ShadowPuterDude to the Desktop.
    2. Double-click FixIEDef.zip, this will create a folder named FixIEDef on your Desktop.
    3. Double-click of the FixIEDef folder.
    4. Locate FixIEDef.bat and double-click on it.
    5. FixIEDef will now run.
    6. Press any key to close the CMD Console when the script is finished.
    Attach a new:
    HJT
    Shownew
    GetRunKeys

To get those logs run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

It downloads fine for me ....what zip program are you using and does it put a folder on your desktop ....it should have 4 items in it. Please don't post a new thread. Stay in this one.

Please follow the directions Tim gave you. You only needed to attach the C:\MGlogs.zip file. It already contains a HijackThis log and the other required logs.

    Sorry....

When I doubleclick the file, Winzip opens but there are no items in the zip file and there is no option to extract (greyed out).

The file that I save to my desktop is titled FixIEDef.zip and is 0kb in size.

Somthing funny is happening...I think maybe my anti-virus is stripping it or something.

The download folder indicates that 29.x kb were downloaded but when I look at the file - it is 0 kb.

Is it even possible that the malware is doing something?

It is probably your antivirus program. Disable it while you download and run the tool.

OK, I finally got it...I had to disable just about everything in Mcafee to get the files.......I'll run it now.
