    Welcome to MajorGeeks!

NOTES: I would not allow uTorrent.exe to auto-run at startup --- very risky. * ComboFix is a very powerful tool. I hope you're NOT running it unsupervised unless you are an expert with Windows OSs.

*Other than the tools our guide instructed you to save there, I strongly recommend that you clean up this account's Desktop immediately leaving only shortcut links. [ C:\Users\L.R.R. Kivipelto\Desktop ] Do not store downloads, exe files, iso files....etc on your Desktop. First it is not a safe place to keep them (i.e., you may loose them due to malware, and a cluttered Desktop is an easy hiding place for malware), and last but not least - it can have an effect on your PCs performance.

Now, re-run RogueKiller.exe. (Vista/Windows7/8/10 users should right-click and select "Run as Administrator")
After it finishes the scan, select the following tabs and then select any of the below that exist and then click the Delete button.

    Then immediately reboot your PC.

When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
Upload RKreport[2].txt to your next message.
After uploading RKreport[2].txt, now run a new scan with RogueKiller and save a log as in the original instructions and upload that new log also.

Now re-scan with Hitman Pro and have it delete everything under the heading of -
    Potential Unwanted Programs

    Ignore all other detections.
    Afterwards, click the Next button.
Now reboot the PC in order for the changes to take affect.
After reboot and when you are back in Windows, rescan with HitmanPro and upload the new log.

Uninstall the below outdated software using
    GeekUninstaller 1.4.0.88, a portable appl.

    Java 7 Update 67
    Java(TM) 6 Update 22

Please shut down ALL of your protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) to avoid possible conflicts. *Re-enable them before physically reconnecting to your ISP.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win 7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    • R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://search.privitize.com/?aff=7
    • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    • O23 - Service: Google'i värskendamisteenus (gupdate) (gupdate) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe
    • O23 - Service: Teenus Google'i uuendus (gupdatem) (gupdatem) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C
(or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy): Do not include the word Code: which is just a title line of the code box
    Code:
    :Services
    gupdate
    gupdatem
    :Reg
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "PrivitizeVPN"=-
    :Commands
    [purity]
    [EmptyTemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large [IMG] button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach this log file to your next message.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Make sure to shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Upload JRT.txt to your next message.

Next download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • When it's done you'll see: Pending: Please uncheck elements you don't want removed.
    • Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • Upload this log to your next reply.

Now install the current version of Sun Java from:
Make sure that when you install the new version of Java that you uncheck the Install the Ask Toolbar junkware checkbox. You do not want to add the stuff junk that most people consider malware to your PC. Also just in case Oracle changes the Java installation in the future to possible install other junk, uncheck all but just installing Java.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select "Run As Administrator").

    Then upload the below logs:
    • RKreport[2].txt plus updated new RK.txt log
    • updated Hitman Pro log.log
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • the JRT.TXT log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
    • AdwCleaner[S#].txt
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Thank you for the info.

I made scan with Roguekiller and deleted items I had to. Somehow RKreport[2].txt did not appear on my desktop after the reboot. I did not find it in the computer either. Though I found 3 files (desktop.ini; desktop.ini and ~Sesanne_2.doc) on desktop, they were not there previously. I also have to admit I used ComboFix without supervision as I had never cleaned my PC before and had no clue how to do it properly. Should I go on with the steps you have given me or should I do something else?

    - The two desktop.ini files are normally hidden files and you see them now because of selecting "Show hidden files and folders" per the R&R ME guide.
~Sesanne_2.doc is unknown - investigate that.
    - Using Combofix wrongly can turn your pc into a doorstop....

Please continue on with my instructions and upload the requested logs.

    Using AdwCleaner.exe previously downloaded:
    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. (Vista, Win7/8/10 users should right-click and "Run As Administrator")
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • When the scan has completed, click on the Clean button.
    • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the on-screen prompts.
    • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
    • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[C#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
    • Upload this log to your next reply.
    * Also upload an updated MGlogs.zip please.
Tell me how your pc is running now.

    You're welcome

Please use MSconfig to reset your machine for Normal Startup Mode. Any other mode is primarily used for temporary troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes.

You didn't follow my instructions in post#6 to have AdwCleaner clean, especially -
    ***** [ Registry ] *****
    - there is adware listed.

Do that and upload an updated log.

    :) All done!

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase it, it provide no protection. It do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If running Vista, Win 7/8/10 - it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double-click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Win 7/8/10, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:
    Safe surfing! [IMG]

I will be away for a week and then would be able to finish dealing with pc.
