Matshita UJDD410 24X Burner just goes

My Matshita 24X burner works fine for a couple months then it just dies and refuses to burn. I get the "MEDIUM SPEED ERROR". I garuntee if I take it out and put it in someone elses machine,it will work fine. If I format,AGAIN, and reinstall everything..it will work fine. WHAT is up with this?!

I have:

Uninstalled/reinstalled the drive
uninstalled/reinstalled Nero
enabled/disabled all the drive mode options (Pio/UDMA e.t.c)
updated firmware and tried SEVERAL brands of CD.

THIS IS THE 3RD time its done this on me..there has GOT to be a reason!
