Maxtor 120 gig

    I have this drive on a USB. MaxBlast will recognize the drive as 122gig. OS XP pro does not. XP says 0.0 MB capacity.

    Is the drive formatted? Where are you seeing the 0MB capacity--How does Disk Management see it. (Start>Run> type in DISKMGMT.MSC and hit OK. Take a look at the graph and see what it says for that Disk #.

    Quit playing with it to-nite; start again tomorrow.

    Device manager sees it as 0 volume.

    Have downloaded three utilities and will try again.

    Properties/volume also sees 0.

    Only max blast sees the 122 gig.

    Does not show icon in my computer.

    will add more Tuesday.

    Found that the drive only spins up occasionally.
    Should anyone have a need for a Maxtor (6y120L0032011) they are welcome to it
    for the cost of mailing the drive from Tonopah AZ.
