    Hello All:

Hoping someone out there might be of assistance on this one.

Wondering if there is a way to reformat completely a Maxtor Shared Storage drive, this included wiping out the administrator's password. Bascially, I want to go back to the way it started up right from the box.

Haven't called Maxtor/Seagate yet but that is my last resort.

    thanks

If you are running XP, I would think you could go into Control Panel/Admin tools then Computer Management and lastly Disk Managment. I can see my 80 gig external drive in 2K from that.
I highlight my disk, select Action from the top menu and then All tasks. One of the options is format.
I didn't try it so I don't know if selecting format gives you a choice of FAT32 or NTFS.
