MCShell.exe

    I have a Dell with xp I am getting a note that MCShell.exe is a bad image. does anyone know what I should do?

    rjbrjb welcome to MG :) Are you running McAfee anti virus. Do you have the Mcafee CD and the key with you? If yes to both.
    Download and save to desktop:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html

    Next, from Control Panel's Add/Remove uninstall McAfee.
    Next - reboot the computer and tap F8 at boot to enter Safe Mode.
    Run the McAfee removal tool MCPR.exe on your desktop.
    Reboot.
    Reinstall McAfee and let us know how it goes.

    The same message started to come up again. I deleted the McAfee on my comp and downloaded it again from ATT.net and installed it on my comp. after a short time the MCShell.exe is a bad image started to come up again.
