I recently went to play a movie on Media Player, however, it is encrypted with avinn codec. Is this a relatively new codec? My son does IT work and has never heard of it, and the few sites that you can download that codec wants a membership fee. I have only one movie encrypted like that and I'm stuck for answers...any help?

It's probably some rip-off codec and a malware delivery tool. If VLC can't play it, just throw the disc out and count your blessings.

Thanks for the help. I think a couple a days ago I downloaded a VLC player that didn't work, but I'll give the MG link a try...it won't hurt. Then if for some reason it doesn't play I'll get rid the movie. Probably right , some type of malware or something. Appreciate the advice, great website!
