    Replaced my crap 1Gb 400Mhz DDR2 with 2x 1Gb DDR2 400Mhz Corsair XMS DIMMs.

Performance was outstanding, well worth the £150.

My board can support 4Gb Ram, so I just couldn't help myself and bought another 2Gb (identical of course.)

After installing, switched on PC, and it takes about 30 secs to get to Windows desktop.

After that, it takes another 3-4 minutes for the hourglass pointer to disappear and its as slow as a bloody Pentium 75.

Every application I run takes 4 or 5 minutes to start.

    Any ideas???

    My spec...

    ASUS A8N SLI 32 DELUXE M/B
    4GB (4x1Gb) Corsair XMS3200 Platinum DDR2 RAM
    Athlon64 3200

Try just using the new sticks of RAM without the old and see if it is as fast as your working 2GB. You could have a bad stick of RAM. When you have all 4 sticks in, does the OS see 4GB?
