memtest86 or memtest86+

    should I use memtest86 or memtest86+ ?

    (I have got some old RAM I would like to test: it seems to work though, registers the right mount)

    Memtest86+ is free (open-source) and based on Memtest86 which is available in Free and Pro ($39) Editions. I'm guesstimating it's probably better than Memetest86 Free Edition, because the publisher needs to reserve some features for the Pro Edition.

    As long as your computer supports it, I recommend using the newer version.
