I was having a lot of problems with my computer. I had a lot of viruses which spyware fixed all but one. I can not play any cd games on my computer. The game will download and then I come up with a engine start MFC application error. This was also the error that spyware couldn't fix. Can someone please help me?

Could you please explain what you have tried to do to fix your problem a little more clearly.
"Spyware is spyware" it does not fix viruses or MFC app errors. You probably meant to say you used a spyware removal application. But what is it that you ran.

If you have not run ALL the steps in the following Sticky thread, please do so:

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

I am sorry, I am computer illiterate.
First of all my ex had all these adult chat things downloaded into the computer. I could not do anything offline. Anything I wanted to do whther it be a word document or go into control panel i had to be online. When I try to download and play a game I get an engine start MFC application error.
Here are the things I did:
    1. i downloaded and ran spybot search and destroy
    2. I downloaded and ran Spyware Blaster
    3. I down loaded and did Spywaregaurd
    4. I downloaded Hijack this
    5. I downloaded Avast

After all of this I restarted the computer and got the following message"some files couldn't be fixed the reason could be associated fileware still in use (in memeory)
I tried to play a game and got the engine start mfc application error.

I have no idea what this is.
    Can you please help?

Do ALL of the steps in the ORDER written (even if it seems like a repeat). As stated in the READ ME, if you have problems running the onlines scanners in safe mode, do them in normal boot mode but perform the remaining steps in normal boot mode.

    When exactly does this occur?
Is it when you are download games to play online?

    Any other time?

I have a cd of who wants to be a millionare. I put the cd in and download it to play when I go to my games to click on it to start that is when the error comes up. I can download i just can not play them. I can play games from my aol fine. When I ran spybot yesterday there was thing thing it couldn't fix and i think that had something to do with the MFC aplpication. When I go home from work I will run spybot again and tell you exactly what the error says.

I having a little problem understanding. Maybe it is just semantics.

When you put a CD in you are not downloading. You are just getting ready to play a game I assume you have already installed on your computer. Let's be clear on the differences between:
    - downloading something - downloading a file from someplace on the internet
    - installing something - installing an application you have downloaded or from a CD
    - running something - the operation of using any executable program

If you get an error when you click Start (and I assume this is from a Start Menu for the game), the error is occuring when you attempt to play the game.

What do you mean, " I can download i just can not play them." Do actually mean you are downloading something? If so, what is it that this game needs to download all the time? What is the CD used for? Isn't the game already installed and are the files required on the CD? Do you actually need internet access to play this game?

Try disabling any antivirus or anti-spyware applications that are active and start the game again.
