I moved your thread to the Malware Removal Forum which is where it belongs.

Click on this link: Using MGtools

And look on the first line for the link to MGtools.exe in bold black ink and underlined. Click on it and tell me exactly what happens. Also tell me which browser you are using?

Okay! I assume you are running the whole READ & RUN ME procedure. Make sure you attach all of the requested logs when you are finished. And then be patient while waiting for an answer. We answer threads in oldest to newest order and we are about 5 pages deep in the work queue right now. This forum is one of the busiest around and threads can quickly go from page 1 to page 5 in one day, but that is where we are working (i.e, down on the older pages). In fact I normally would not have even posted this ;) since this thread is newer than all the ones I'm currently working on.

Note we do not need you to attach your own HijackThis logs. We have it embedded into MGtools and it it is run properly via our procedure.

By who! Your logs are clean.

You can uninstall SUPERAntispyware now since we are finished with it.

Perhaps you need to look into hardware or software/driver conflict issues in the Software Forum if you really believe your system is having problems.

We could run another scan to check for rootkits ( which I will give below ) but I expect that it will turn up clean.

Run this Using Sophos Anti-Rootkit and attach the requested log if you wish to look for rootkits.

    thanks for the quick replay.
it was a friend that Iasked at work, why every now and then by computer will beep in the middle of a game like something loaded in the back ground. when I when to process I see tons of stuff but not sure why their running. Started Using "Whatsrunning" to see what is running and some turned stuff off.

Here is the post from "Sophos"

I have another computer that is the same OS and has some issues, would like to start a new thread for this using your plan.

Beeps could be due to some kind of system error too. You don't have any signs of malware. Even the Sophos log is clean.

All Windows PCs have lots of processes running. And the more you install on your PC (especially if you allow unnecessary items to load at startup) the more you will have running. I have only 2 browser windows open right now but have 38 processes running. This quite normal/typical. Be careful what you stop from loading, you could break things you need or worse, you could make your PC unbootable.

Yes start a new thread for your other PC and attach the logs. Also make sure you dscribe what malware problems you are still having after running the READ ME.

Thanks for all the information and help. I know how much time you must have put in on this and I hope others find this as helpful as I did. I suggest we close this thread.:)

You're welcome. We don't close threads in this forum as it is not necessary since only you or one the malware fighters, mods or admins can post in your thread. No normal users can post in another persons thread so we don't need worry about thread hijacking. Also we (the helpers) try to make the last post in each thread so that we know that it does not require any further activity from us.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. Uninstall SUPERAntispyware
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop & renamed it like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u
        • Notes: The space between the cf" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\cf folder from combofix.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    5. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    8. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
