Mic Input not working, please help

hi guys,

a few weeks ago my mic suddenly stopped working for some unknown reason, i assumed it was my headset (Headsets are more like consumables to me) so without another system to test my headset on i went out and got a new pair today! but guess what, still not picking any mic activity up,

Im using an ASUS A7N8X deluxe with the Nvidia 2 chipset,
i have reinstalled the 5.1 drivers, and also tried the 2.4 drivers with no luck.

i have ran the windows sound hardware thingy to test your mic, still no luck.
heck i even tried the sound recorder lol.

can anyone suggest something i might have missed? or something i can do.

Check your settings in control panel sounds and audio devices,Hi

 

i checked all settings in control panal, went thru all my nvidia settings, nothing is muted, it says everything is the way it is meant to be.

i ran thru some of the windows troubleshooting without success, i ran the mic wizard thru msn, that didnt work, im lost at what to do, its just strange that it is only the mic that wont work but everything else does

 

can someone please help me?? i have no clue what to do next

 

Not sure if I can help, sometimes Windows updates cause issues like yours.
