    Computer is ASUS Desktop PC CM6850 Series
    OS: Windows 7

    I received an email saying that FedEx had not sent me a package and I clicked on the link. When I realized that I had made a mistake (instantly), I started my virus checker (MacAfee) and Spybot removal. I think this could have been related because when I when to clean the quarantine in MacAfee, the went into the System Care Antivirus thing.

    I was able to go through your read this, loaded the programs, and scanned. However my spybot still gets Fraud.FedexWord, which it can't delete. Malware bytes was blocking a srvchost from going to questionable IP addresses. I went into my MacAfee Firewall and disabled kdjqrt.exe.

    Here are the attached files from the scans:

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKCU\[...]\Run : snlolilv ("C:\Users\Cyn Bagley\AppData\Local\kxfpotcq.exe") [-] -> FOUND
      [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKUS\S-1-5-21-1238054183-3953616728-3169987434-1000[...]\Run : snlolilv ("C:\Users\Cyn Bagley\AppData\Local\kxfpotcq.exe") [-] -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet.

    Now rerun Hitman and have it fix everything it found.

    Reboot and rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach those logs as well.

    Be sure to tell me how things are running now.

    I ran RogueKiller and did NOT see the two lines in the registry tab. Here is the attached file:

    Should I run Hitman?

    BTW Malware just found the trojan and put it in quarantine.

    I ran Hitman Pro, then booted.
    Here are the two reports... also a RKquarantine report is sitting on my desktop. I am giving you that report too. kxrpotcqexe.vir is in the RKquarantine folder.

    Looks good. What malware issues are you still having, if any?

    At this time, I am not seeing anything that I recognize as malware. I did have a Windows Live ID try to go to a unrecommended site (caught by my virus checker), so I removed Windows Live programs except for Live Mail, which I use.

    Spybot doesn't see the trojan now (good). My computer is working faster (good). My only question is -- should I delete the quarantined file? I don't feel happy to have it on my computer even if it is quarantined.

    Otherwise, I think I am in good shape-- You guys are a life-saver.

    Yes you can remove the quarantined file.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link

    Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
    Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
