I have a problem with a monitor: up until last week it was working perfectly and then it started to blank out. If I turned it off then on again, it works for two seconds then blanks out again.

The image is there the monitor is just very dim. All the brightness settings are the same when it was working. Is it time to replace it?

    It's a 19-inch Proview model no: PL926Wbi
    Any help would be appreciated

When it blacks out, does the power light go out?

That sounds like the backlight is broken, it may be possible to find a replacement for it.

Yes the power light is on.

How would I go about checking/replacing the backlight?

A backlight is one of those things I would recommend taking to a repair shop for since you have to take apart the monitor. Your call tho
