Okay, if I have been able to fix the problem with the Nvidia GeForce4 what do I do to fix the problem that I had to begin with?? The problem was that my display setting is re setting themselves everytime I start a new program on my computer. This doesn't make any sense to me. It started it a few weeks ago which is why I downloaded the Nvidia Software to begin with to try and fix the problem when I found out that my drivers needed updating. I updated the drivers, but this did not fix the problem. '

So, can anyone help me with this initial problem so that I do not accidently screw up my computer again.

Thank you for all your help with the Nvidia problem. Although I haven't switched back to normal mode yet to see if my monitor is working correctly yet.

If not, I'll be baack to post again. Thank you:eek:

hi indiglo! what is the model of your video card? and what drivers have you installed? i'd recomend you uninstall all nVidia drivers and install not the latest ones, because last drivers are't compatible with the old video cards.

Thank you for the information. However, when I rebooted to the regular mode the Nvidia reinstalled itself after I had uninstalled it to get my monitor back online after I made a mistake and the screen went blank and wouldn't allow me to correct it in normal mode.

When Nvidia reinstalled it's drivers and stuff, the whole problem corrected itself and my screen doesn't blink anymore. Nvidia was the regular driver for my media and something had gone wrong with it and that is why I downloaded the new drivers and software in order to correct the problem.

The mistake I made was forgetting that I was using a Dell monitor with a HP Pavilion n763 computer. So, when it came up telling me that the only monitor setting I could use was the Dell setting, I totally had a brain F**t!! I was looking for an HP monitor setting so I asked it to look for a different monitor setting. The new setting that came up was for the Television.

Not knowing that it would not give me the option to view the option and then change my mind, my monitor went completely blank and stayed there.

The Nvidia is actually very good software for your gaming and visual graphics needs. In fact, some of the games that I have not been able to play because of my old video drivers I can now play with no stuttering on the screen at all and I am very happy with the outcome.

Thank you everyone for helping me with this.

However I do have a security problem with my Mozzilla/Firefox that I will be posting tomorrow so that I might get it to work correctly again. I would go into it now, but I am very tired from the stress of what has happened and I need to destress before I get to fixing this other problem.:) ;) :D
