I recently received a princeton lv1916 LCD monitor and when I plug it in I get a black screen that says out of range. What can I do to get this to work?

Try booting into "safe mode" and lowering either/both the screen resolution ( 1280x1024 ) or the monitors refresh rate, a refresh rate of 60hz will be fine for the monitor.

both options can be found in the Display Properties > Settings ( plus Advanced for monitor refresh rate )
