Short Story: Computer boots but the monitor is not displaying. Monitor is Working. Everything has been un-plugged and plugged in again. tried to boot in safe mode by selecting F8 with no signal.

More Detailed: I was here yesterday looking at the computer clean up techniques because lucky me I got the Bravix Trojan. I was all ready to debug my computer today and now it won't display anything. Could a virus have caused this? I have un-plugged, cleaned, run safe mode(without being able to see anything), monitor is not dead. Any suggestions for working blindly to fix this. It's a Dell Computer running Micosoft XP home edition. I'm sure if you need more info I can dig some up. Any solutions or am I SOL?

Couple of Questions Have you tried the monitor on another computer? second Question how do you know if your monitor is isn't dead? Then the other question Did you disable anything while in safe mode?

From What I found on that Trojan all it seems do attract more malware.

I have plugged the monitor into my laptop and it is working. I'm not sure if I disabled anything in safe mode because I was working blindly. This problem was happening before I tried safemode, however.
