    Working with Vaio - processor 64 and WIN 7. Regularly do updates of various programs. While uninstalling some programs I found, my set of programs include various successive versions of some programs. Particularly:
    a)
    Java 7 update 67
    Java 7 update 67 (64-bit) (x64),
    Java 8 update 25
    Java 8 update 25 (64-bit) (x64)
    Java FX
    b)
    Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2005
    Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2005 (x64)
    7 times versions 2008 - 3 times x64, 4 times x86,
    2 times same two versions for 2010 and 2012
    c)
    VLC Media Player
    VLC Media Player 2.1.4 (x64)
    I would like to know, whether I can uninstall any of these programs without any harm, or whether successive versions only add something to versions previous.
    Thanks in advance

    Truthfully, I'd uninstall all the Java. I don't have Java installed on any computer. Does any program you run require it? If you must, keep only the newest. Old versions of Java is a major highway for malware to get into a computer.
    Java 7 Update 71 or Java 8 Update 25

    You need several versions of C++. Programs break if the proper version of C++ is not found. I would not remove any of them.

    Just keep one version of VLC.
