Mouse cursor freezes for a few seconds and randomly disconnects

    My mouse cursor just randomly stops moving for a few seconds and starts moving again. My cursor randomly froze at least 2-3 times just registering and creating this topic. It also randomly disconnects as well and the only way to get it to work again is unplugging and re-plugging the mouse in.

    edit: mouse isn't wireless.

    I hope, for your sake, the mouse is USB. You NEVER pull a PS/2 mouse out nor plug it in while the computer is on.

    Easiest first troubleshooting step: try another mouse.

    Second test: boot into safe mode and post whether the same behavior occurs with the problem mouse.
