Periodically when I log on to my computer my mouse goes beserk. It jumps all over the screen, opens different windows, start up items, and I can not control it for a while. Eventually it stops but it takes about 3-5 minutes. I have scanned my system for spy, ad ware, malicious software. I am runnig Pest Patrol, Bit Defender, and Microsoft AntiSpyware on a XP system that is 2 years old. It drives me nuts so if anone knows please help.

Does this happen when you are on the internet? What about if you disconnect yourself from the internet?

When I am NOT online. Just after I log on. I have two users on my computer, me and my daughter and she doesnt have access to the net on her profile.

I'm not trying to degrade your intelligence or anything, it is just a simple question. This question follows:

Your net access, is it dial-up or broadband (i.e. DSL, Cable, etc).

Another thing to try, is to go into MSCONFIG and uncheck all startup items. If you don't have any issues, then perhaps some certain program is starting these issues.

    I use dial up.
