In the past i've burnt movie files as data on dvds, now they seem to be corrupt (red snow type) when viewed (from dvd & from HD), even though the thumbnail review is fine....can ayone help??

what type of movie files are you using? maybe your dvd player doesn't fully support the format you are trying to view.

Could be a codec problem if youre talking about playing the DVDs on your PC by either using the saved files from the hard drive or by popping a disc in to the PCs DVD drive. You didn't mention a Windows version or media player, so try using VLC Media Player and see what happens. VLC is free, and it's different from most players as is has most (if not all) codecs built in so it can play just about anything... give it a go and tell us how things turn out.

re-booted pc and problem sorted itself, must've have been finding the codec.
    thanks anyways.
