Need advice on best way to transfer current hard drive to new system without losing existing programs, data, not re-installing OS. Can it be done, simply and safely?
Windows XP on existing system. C: & D: drives. Drive D: has full system backup image using Norton Ghost 2003.
The new box has a different motherboard.
Have run Norton Ghost to clone C: drive to external drive.
So....what would be the logical, best way to finish up?

New case is easy, the new motherboard is the rub. Totally different drivers, it will be a hassle, but it can be done. XP EULA doesn't allow it though.

It is a lot easier to move the data from one machine to another.
