Ok, I'm using Vista Home Premium, and I'm having issues with my Mozilla Firefox of late. I ran Webroot's Window Washer with a very high bleach setting the other day, and since I haven't been able to get the security settings for Firefox to work. I get warning messages every time it starts telling me that the SSL and the security settings aren't working properly. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling it, but thus far it still hasn't worked for me. :cry

It's been getting on my nerves and I need a cooler head with this. :tas

Completely uninstalling/reinstalling FF should fix your problem. Unfortunately, you will lose bookmarks and extensions.

The FF forums are very good and may point you to the exact file in your profile that is causing the problem. I would recommend making a post there http://forums.mozillazine.org/ I believe you can post without registering in the thread Firefox Support.

If you want to completely uninstall/reinstall Firefox you have to delete the profile folder. After uninstalling:

Click "Start > Run > Type in %APPDATA% > click OK" **I don't have Vista so hope this works for you** [Windows Vista users: Press "Windows key+R" on the keyboard to open the "Run" box]; .
A window will open, Delete the Mozilla folder
    Re-install FireFox
All FF settings will be the default

Warning: All bookmarks and extensions will be lost!

You can save a copy of your bookmarks by going into the Mozilla folder before deleting: Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>#####.default>bookmarks.html [Save a copy of this file to your Desktop, or anywhere you can find it later, and after reinstalling FF go to your profile folder and Copy/Overwrite the smaller existing bookmarks.html file].

    :)

    Thanks guys,

The problem is not resolved yet, but I've left a message on Mozilla's boards regarding the error and it should be taken care of soon. For future reference, here are the error messages I received:

LOL Where's a thumbs-up smiley when you need one? Profile cleared up, Firefox has been reinstalled clean and free of the stupid bug. Thanks guys, you really bailed me out of an annoying and potentially worrisome situation.
