MS Paint is not opening JPEG files

Hello,
I can't open JPEG files with MS Paint. It used to work just fine...but it now says:
"Paint cannot read this file.
This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported."

Is there a way to fix that?

There are several variations of the jpg format, some of which I'm guessing that Paint doesn't support.

 

What version of windows are you running?

Have you tried another viewer like Irfan? http://www.irfanview.com/index.htm
