MSConfig? Normal Start-up restore old problems?

I previously experienced an attack of Security Alert Virus In October. I let it in by talking on the phone and not reading before clicking. My fault. When I used Mbam to clean it, I had to disable some questionable start-up items. Random #'s and such. They remained unchecked.

If I go to normal start up mode, will the horrifying Security Alert Return?

I am currently I ran the Read and Run from Malware Removal Guide and got logs, but are they useless without normal start-up?

I'm definately rooted (Rootkit). I working on removing the rootkit. I can not start up in Safe Mode, but normal mode works now I just get constant redirects?

ComboFix is not working.

Not if the files related to them had already been removed. It really does not matter since we can clean them up anyway if a problem occurs. Just put your PC into normal startup mode as requested and run the cleaning procedure. Then attach the requested logs. If ComboFix does not run, just skip it but make sure you tell us exactly what happens. Don't just say it does not work. If you are having redirects, ComboFix is one of the most useful tools at finding why and fixing the problem.
