I've noticed lately that when I open Task Manager I can have numerous (5 or more) instances of dfrgfat.exe running, as well as multiple instances of iexplorer.

Has anyone had this problem and achieved a solution? I am wondering if this is also linked to my browser not wanting to open links in new windows.

    Thanks.

dfrgfat.exe is associated with Disk keeper defrag utility, its probably defragmenting your drives in the background. There would be one instance for each drive you have connected internally or externally.

I only have one drive attached. Any other possibilities - malware?

Run TweakUI and turn off "optimise hard disk when idle". Windows also uses dfrgfat.exe

I don't know about the iexplorer because I don't use IE. Go in and end all but one of them. Are they all using resources?

    Where can I get TweakUI?
