multiple varying bluescreens

Hi I`m having problems with a pc on windows xp sp3, getting multiple blue screens with different codes and different errors and not sure how to record these or how to use them to fix the problem i have. the cd-rom is also showing up as having a problem in the device manager, so is not properly installed but after trying to install the driver for the cd-rom from the manufacturers floppy disk it says that the best one is already installed. Not sure if this is related to the blue screens?
