    Hello Major Geeks,

Recently my computer has been acting really slow and I've been getting a lot of windows error messages. On one user, no programs work on the desktop and when I click on anything on the control panel list it says:

    C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe - Application not found

After reboots when I click on my windows user name it says:

    Limited Virtual Memory

Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small.

Also when I'm on the internet sometimes pages won't load properly and an error message would pop up saying:

Out of Memory: Line 2 or sometimes 9 and other numbers

I know these problems may not be related to malware, but I ran the Read and Run me first anyways. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ran Mbam again because another update was available. Weird cause I udpdated it just before I ran it the first time. :confused

Also I forgot to say when I ran Combofix another error message popped up saying:

    PEV.cfxxe - Corrupt File

The file or directory C:\$Mft is corrupt and unreadable. Please Run the Chkdsk utility

It is a very bad idea to allow all users to have Admin. privileges!! You will need to run both SAS and MBAM on each user account.

Your slowness is because you have too little RAM installed and you are also running out of hard drive space:
    Code:
    Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
    Available Physical Memory 202.12 MB

    Size 71.37 GB (76,634,931,200 bytes)
Free Space 3.48 GB (3,735,724,032 bytes)
    Otherwise, your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Ok I did what you said by running SAS and MBAM under each user but I ran into a problem under one user. After I ran SAS, (which the scan didn't find anything) I restarted the computer and logged back on, nothing was working. The Internet wouldn't open, SAS wouldn't open, My Computer would open but wouldnt load. Several other programs are not opening. I tried to run MBAM but the scan would freeze 3 seconds into it. When I tried to restart the computer again, the computer would just freeze at the "Saving Your Settings" screen. I dont know what to do from here.

The best thing to do is to create a new user account. Then transfer any docs and settings to that account and delete the old account. You can follow these instructions:
    Copy User Profiles.

Ok but before I do this, does this mean I will lose all the folders in program files in the C: Drive? Because I have a couple folders that I imported into a program that I can't afford to lose.

No, you won't lose anything. You may need to move files in the start up folder for your old account. But otherwise, all will remain where it is.

Ok I did everything that you said to do. I created a new user account, copied the files to the new user and deleted all the other users. But I'm still having the same problems. I still can't see anything in My computer it just shows a loading icon and Internet Explorer still isnt opening. When I look under task manager I can see iexplore.exe but it wont come up. Also everytime I restart the computer I get all these end program messages. LogonSessionTracker, DSAgnt.exe, hpqtra08.exe, Musicmatch Component manager and explorer.exe. Then my computer will just sit at the saving your settings screen and I have to reboot it manually.

I forgot to say that when I was deleting one user a message popped up saying something about a file is corrupt. I think might of been rundll32.exe but im not sure as it only stayed up for a couple seconds. But after the account appeared to be deleted I saw in the start menu under docs and settings that the user wasn't fully deleted. When I tried to delete the folder it said : Cannot delete Default.ldb: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

This is not a malware issue. I suggest that you post in the software forum for additional assistance with this. You may have corrupt user accounts and may need to do a repair install to get things working again.
