My brother computer mouse pointer problem (software issue)

    Hello, guys I was just wondering why my brothers pointer selects icons when just hovered over them. Also Icons are opened with a single click so its very annoying not when i am just trying to select one and not open it necessarily. I thought I remembered how to fix this, but I cant find anything about it in the control panel. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for reading :)

    In XP: Open Windows Explorer, then click Tools and Select Folder Options.
    General tab, under Click items as follows section, click Single–click to open an item (point to select). Click OK.
