I have run most of the steps that you recommended until # 6. Bitdefender gives me an error in IE and shuts down. I was able to run Panda and received incidents ASK, Tribalfusion, Atlas. Any thoughts.
    Thanks

Please follow the directions given in the READ ME. No logs should be posted inline. You must attach logs. Also, you must attach the logs from step 6. If BitDefender still does not run (were you in safe mode) then just attach the Panda log.

Also follow the directions in step 7 properly so that you install HijackThis as required.

Please indicate what your exact problems are too.

Where is the Panda Active Scan log?

You still did not follow step 7 properly and as a result HijackThis is still installed incorrectly. It should not be running from the below folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Todd\Desktop\HijackThis.exe

Please read all the instructions in the link given in step 7 or the READ ME.

You also forgot to answer my previous question:

The problems are crashes, freeze ups, choppy scrolling. And still can not run Bitdefender.
    Thanks

What is the error you get from BitDefender? It is always more useful to provide very specific information. Like exact error messages or error numbers if received. Do not translate them. Give us exactly what they say word for word.

Is your SpySweeper copy a paid subscription or is it just the trial version?

If it is a trial, uninstall it and keep MS Antispyware.
If you bought SpySweeper and keep it upto date (pay yearly subscription fees) then uninstall MS Antispyware and keep SpySweeper.

Click Start, Run, and enter cmd and click OK. This opens a command prompt window. At the command prompt enter sfc /scannow and hit the enter key. This will look for and attempt to replace or repair missing or corrupted Windows system files.

Then reboot and let me know if there are any changes. Right now I don't believe your problems are malware related.

C:\DOCUME~1\Todd\LOCALS~1\Temp\65b2_appcompat.txt is a file that is attached to the error report.

    AppName:iexplore.exe AppVer:6.0.2900.2180 ModName:unknown

Do you only get the error when trying to access the BitDefender online scan site or do you get the error for other sites?

Are you try to read the stuff I gave you in the link in message # 14 or are you trying to do a scan?

Please try what was given in message number 14? If you tried it, you should be giving feedback. Remember I cannot see what you are doing & have no idea what you are thinking.

I repeat: you are not having malware problems. You have something on your PC configured in a form that does not allow BitDefender to work or it is some other file missing or corrupted that is causing a problem for BitDefender. In reality I would not worry about it. It is not worth the trouble and you system is clean.

    Hi
I ran scf /scannow and it did not fix my newest problem. Any additional help would be great.

    Thanks

I have no idea what you are talking about! Why are you quoting (without quoting - use the quote capability of the message editor) message # 8 from me? And how am I supposed to know what your newest problem is? You have not been here for 17 days. Why did you run sfc again, you already said you ran it in message # 11?
