My computer shuts down by the time it's finished booting

I was wondering if I could get some quick help:

My laptop, by the time it makes it to the welcome screen (and usually sooner) shuts down -- it just powers off. I tried booting in safe mode, but this won't work either, it just does the same thing. A few times an error box popped up that said something like "something.exe failed to run successfully" or something like that, and then it shut down again. So I can't even get on my computer to remove whatever malware is on it. I need help please!

 

I don't think this is spyware related.

If its a complete power off, I'd suspect hardware trouble.
