My Laptop Not Shutdown

My laptop was working fine ,after complete my work when i try for shut down of laptop but it is not shutdown .
what is this problem and how fix this problem?

 

Which version of Windows are you running (7, 8, 8.1 or 10)? What is the make (brand) and model of your laptop?

How can a CHROMEBOOK be running a Windows Operating System????
That doesn't sound right.
A Chromebook runs a Google CHROME operating system. Not Windows.

 

As MaxTurner said, the Dell Chromebook only comes with Chrome OS (I checked — there is no Windows 8.1 option). So your Dell laptop, if it came with Windows 8.1 is a Latitude, Inspiron, XPS or something similar.

 

Having researched how Chrome books work, if you merely close the lid, it only goes into sleep mode. It does not shut down. Open the lid and it starts.
To shut down, there are several paths:
1. Push and hold the power button until it shuts off
2. Click on your MiniMe icon, lower right, and then click on the power icon.
