my most recent computer software problem

my computer won't allow either service pack 3 or sucurity update for xp to download/install is there anything that i can do to fix this?:confused

i am runing windows xp pro and upon trying to install sp3 my computer all the sudden said access denied mid way through the install, now i know wut ur thinking (i think)and yes i am a system administrator and yes i have full computer privliges!:confused

know idk wut to do about this as i am still learning the ropes for the most part so i am asking for help on this problem(also plz c post about urgent help needed)

ps:idk if it matters but my computer has been having issues with fragments,but this problem is pre-existing!!!!:confused

There's usually an error code that goes along with the Windows Update failure.
Posting that error code may help resolving the updating issue.

 

thats the problem there was no error code lol

no not that i could find i got half way through said error and undid itself

 

Anything relevant in any of the Event Viewer logs?

 

that i can find no idk wuts the problem i guess ill stick to service pack 2 for now

 

Can you install other programs? Ccleaner or anything like that?

 

ya its just that service pack like i said o well stick to sp2
