My new system idea

Ok, I think I have figured out what I want when I get back to the States in Dec/Jan.

This is what I have now:

Intel P4-E 3.0gHz
2GB PC3200 RAM
256MB ATi X800XL
SATA HDs (x2) w/those cheap 3x fan coolers

This is what I propose for my new system. Note that my wife wants the computer more quiet than it currently is. Please feel free to make suggestions, comments, or if you know better prices.

AMD X2 AM2 5000 2.6gHz w/mobo - $390
2X 1GB DDR2-800 RAM - $99 (x2 = $200)

2x Hard drive coolers (http://www.quietpcusa.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=8&Product_ID=92&CATID=1) - $75 (please let me know if you have experience with these)
512mb PCIE Radeon X1900 (should i find a crossfire board or just get one card?)

What CPU fan would you suggest and what size power supply?

 

dont get AMD. go for intel core 2 duo instead since they give more value for money than AMD. plus they are cheaper and have better performance than anything AMD has. the RAM and case are fine. instead of AcoustiFan, go for Sharkoon. the HDD cooler and gfx card are fine.

as for the CPU fan go for the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. a 500W to 600W PSU should be fine.

 

I'm curious to see where you are finding the Intel cheaper. I see the 2.67 core duo about 270 dollars more expensive. Also why do you choose the Sharkoon and what makes you choose that particular CPU fan.
