naming conventions for databases

I'm a newbie, can anyone please point me to where I can find standards about naming databases (tables, attributes, etc)?

Thanks Matt, I had found these before but it does seem that the example, however good, is one person's thoughts with a few comments. I was hoping for, but failed to find myself, a definitive list of rules. Thanks all the same.
