   when I start my computer this shows up core.hp.main/application.xml is missing. what is it and what do I do to fix it?

   Click on your start button, go to run and type msconfig. Click on the start up tab. Find things related to HP, and uncheck them. Reboot the computer and see if the error still happens.
   
   Optionally, you can reinstall some of your Hewlett Packard software. Odds are you deleted something causing this error.
