Nec dvd rw nd 3540a

    My dvd does not recongnize any dvd I put in it. Is it an SP3 problem. I purchased other disc and none work. Keep saying in properties that the dics have no memory. free space 0 size 0
    Has no problem with CD discs just DVD's

    Hi Jackee,

    I had a Liteon drive that did the opposite. Are you aware that there are 2 lasers in a CD/DVD RW drive? 1 laser is for CD's and the other is for DVD's.

    The DVD laser in your drive may have gone bad. Fortunately CD/DVD burners are only about $20 or so at Newegg, many with free shipping.

    My neighbor just bought a new DVD RW and is having the same problems as I am. It does not recognize the DVD disc

    Maybe there is something wrong with the DVD.
