Need better ad blocking software

I've been using AdBlock IE for years; however it seems to be losing its edge in stopping unwanted ads.

As an example, on my home page (att.yahoo.com), it will not block the ad to the right of news headlines. Even worse, there is an un-closable animated overlay of the Publishers Clearinghouse Prize Patrol staff walking across my entire screen - twice - whenever a PCH ad is in the top right ad box. This happens each time I go back to the home page. I've also had similar issues at comcast.net.

Does anyone know of a more effective ad blocker that will stop these newer ad annoyances? Thanks in advance for your help.

 

Do you use Fanboy's Adblock for IE? It works only on IE9. http://fanboy.co.nz/adblock/ie.html

If you do have the very same one, please disregard the above. I very seldom use IE9 but when needed it takes care of the unwanted ads.
