need help for multimedia driver please

    hi all i'm really stuck on this one i need a multimedia driver for a compaq persario 5000 tower i searched the support site for compaq and just cant seem to fine them would greatly appreciate if some would post the link to the driver i have no internet access on that machine as yet and would like to download them from here and install them

    can anyone here please post a link to the driver for the multimedia controller im running win 2k pro on a compaq persario 5000 i've been looking for days with no luck i'm trying to fix my friends computer and this is the last thing i need.

    would be extremly greatfull

    yes i did try driver.com i just cant seem to find the right controller driver for the system

    yes puter dude i have tried that site and the drivers it all looks good in the device manager but no sound its not muted checked that as well its intergrated on the mobo and still nothing

    Double check the speaker connections, plugged in to the Audio correctly, plugged into the power source. Audio card could be bad.

    i did all the things you mentioned only tried it with head phones tho is it possible that this computer need powered speakers? even tho i would think it should work with head phones

    You are getting sound using the headphones?

    no i get no sound out of the head phones i've tried two different ones and no sound at all but at the same time in device manager i have what looks like everything is clean no sign of a problem regards

    You may have a bad sound card.

    thanks for all your help shadow i was kinda thinking that it might be that was just hoping it wasn't its a heap of crap i told a friend that i would try to fix for him oh well thanks so much for responding
