Need help on my cpu overclocking...

Ok have a Dell Dimension 5150 and i want to overclock the cpu which is a P4 3.00ghz. I have good cooling in my computer so thats not a problem.

I basically want to know what has to be done to bump it up a bit?

I looked at the overclocking guide and got a little lost .

Any help would be great.

well since its a dell... you cant overclock in the bios... try downloading clockgen or softfsb... you dont need much to oc

 

Agree'd ... I don't think that DELL Bios' are very nifty, I could see where you would have gotton lost in the overclocking guide. The Dell BIOS is extremely basic. And as for overclocking your processor, I would advise not to go TOO far, I don't think that those motherboards that Dell have can handle much of a load.

well its complicated... it doesnt have support for all mobo's.... but all you have to do is find your PLL on your mobo... usually next to a shiny little rectangle with rounded edges... you have to read the numbers off there... hmm this isnt helping that much... heres what some ppl do... go into pll config and then go down the list and click apply with each pll... if you find one that works use it...
if not try CpuFSB....
