    Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and I need some help removing a .dll file that is infected with a virus. The file is C\WINDOWS\system32\map600.dll, to be exact. I have tried Heaventools PE Explorer with no luck and also Brute Force Uninstaller. I'm not sure if I'm using BFU correctly or not so that might be a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Hi

You could use one of the below options to delete this errant file,

    1. Pocket Killbox
    2. MoveOnBoot this one, once you dragNdrop the file or browse for its location, deletes the file on reboot, so any applications that have locked the file are not running so cannot lock it before deletion.. my fav!
    3. Unlocker

Also which Windows version you using and do make sure that if its ME/XP that the virus is not also located in a System Restore point.. if it is you will need to disable System Restore to clear that virus infected file.

Thanks and I'll use one of those three options. I'm using XP and I know how to turn off System Restore so that's already taken care of. Thanks again!
