Please can you help me to identify where my machine is hijacked and advise what I can do to resolve it. During a recent install of software my firewall was out of action and it took a few day to discover the cause. I now seem to be infiltrated with something that causes my machine to show 100% CPU all the time and run very slowly. I have followed the instructions in the Hijack This notes and believe that I have carried out the process completely.

I am adding the files to this thread and hope that someone can help please.
    Regards

    David

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

You never attached the log from PandaActiveScan requested in step 6, however you do not appear to have malware problems. You CPU useage may just be due to Microsoft Indexing Service running three times. It is a required part of your OS but it should not be running all the time. You should do the below:

Click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'. On the page that opens, scroll down to Indexing Service ... then right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the Start-up Type to Manual. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Also you have Inetinfo.exe running (also not malware), see the below link:

Let me know if this helps! If not, I may be referring you to the Software Forum because I do no think you have malware problems.

Thans for the response. I have tried the firts fix and ther does seem to be some improvement. I have not downloaded an installed the Microsoft hotfix as I am not running the software it reers to so any additional help of stopping inetinfo running would be appreciated.

I did not attach the Panda file as it did not find anything so did not allow anything to be saved to file. Congratulations on a gret service here.

Look in TaskManager at CPU useage for inetinfo.exe. Is it really using up all of your CPU time?

Are you running a Web Server?
