I have a ECS Elite Group L4VXA2 mother board with Phoenix Award V6.00PG Bios. Somehow my kid must have set a password into the bios and I cannot open it (he can't remember anything).

I need a backdoor password for this bios chip so I can readjust my clock speed settings.

I've tried some of the standard Award backdoor passwords listed in some articles on a Google search but none worked. I don't want to power down the chip by battery removal if at all possible as I can't see my current bios settings.

Does anyone know of a password for this particular piece of hardware??

Simply power off the machine, unplug the power cord. Slip the side of the computer off, Take the CMOS battery out for 30 seconds and replace it. You will get a message on boot just press F1 (could be different on your machine, you will see what Im talking about) to loads defaults. This will reset the password :)

Again I will say, thanks for the reply but I believe I got this covered.
