I am trying to install a Powercolor ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB on an older motherboard by Amptron model P4-920LSD. When I put the 9800 in, the monitor will not activate. Everything else seems to work fine, the hard drive sounds like it runs and all the fans turn on, keyboard lights light up as well as the optical mouse. The computer seems to meet all the requirements for the video card. I updated the chipset drivers and was going to try to install the video card drivers before installing the card, but it rejected them since the video card wasn't detected. I also even uninstalled the old video card through the device manager, which happens to be an nVidia TNT2 32MB AGP.

I am having a terribly hard time finding the BIOS drivers for the motherboard. I did find a BIOS flash image, but cannot get my hands on a floppy disk immediately and would rather not risk the BIOS flash because I got the file from a german site and am not 100% sure that it is the correct one.

Any hints or info on drivers would be appreciated. Thank you all for your time.

Check to see if you pluged the power plug in,on the ati 9600, it has a connector that needs one of the outputs from the PS.
    Good Luck

tried resetting the cmos on the motherboard by removing the battery for a few minutes then putting it back in? Only draw back is that you will have to reenter any custom setting you have made in the bios.

still looking for help with this, the only luck I had was with a BIOS company called eSupport.com and they were only selling a BIOS for the mobo, but it was $50 dollars

any help would be appreciated, thanks

make sure the card is good, try it in a other pc, dont spend $50 on a bios upgrade, you can buy a new mb for about the same price,
