I have a mess... must find program to compare FILES IN MULTIPLE FOLDERS that I have saved as backups over years. I dont know where to start looking for the right app. Found many that claim miracles, tried many, got zero results. Found a couple that actually work, but would take approx 2 years to go thru as many folders I have.

PLEASE HELP me figure a way out of this mess I have. Time is against me also due to having to sort this out and then fire up a new server, put all files on server and be done with it.

I have had people send links to garbage software via other forums, which I am not good within these, but figured this forum would have MY ANSWER after going thru it / there are many good people in here and very helpful.

ANY help would be "greatly appreciated".
    Thanks Geeks !! :)

    I use FolderMatch from http://www.foldermatch.com/
It can tell you duplicate files, orphan (files in one folder, not the other) & sync them up for you.

If this is not it, what type of comparison are you looking for?
    More a dupe checker?

    Thx for the info.
Is this a "trial" software where it is limited to so many dups found?
Or can you use it with full functionality for awhile?

What I'm trying to do is this: I have multiple backups with same folders, some folders with same files and some without a few, basically a bunch of folders with many different versions of files saved over few years.

I am trying to sort thru all of these to narrow it down to probably the most recent file, get rid of all the duplicates I have with some, basically clean up the mess i have.

I don't know if I need "sync" or "delete dups" software / any ideas on what I should be looking for? And if so, what's a good one that is somewhat user friendly since I'm not good with setting all these filters, etc.
