    Hello Fellow Geeks...
In my Principles of Information Security class, we are beginning our semester projects. I am looking for suggestions for research resources. The following was provided by our instructor:

    • Define and explain security malware problems that users may face with the use of desktop or laptop computers
    • How to know if malware exists, how to protect computing devices from malware and what to do if your computer has malware
    • Discuss features of particular virus and malware software that is free or can be purchased.
    • Prepare a table of at least 5 products indicating price, functionality, ease of use, rated protection

While there is certainly a wealth of information available on the web, I need a bit of help separating the factual & thorough from the opinion & fragmented information. I know that many of you are experts on such a topic. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    toehead

I'm sorry but we are really way to busy removing malware and fixing the damaged cause by malware to spend time on this. You can research in threads here in the forum and read the sticky/pinned threads to come up with some ideas.

And the last bullet you can easily get review and price information on from the internet.
